Girls 10-12 years of age and their moms or a trusted female adult.

It is ideal to login using a laptop or desktop that has a camera.  Smart phones can be used as well.

In consideration of the many young people that will be joining via video, this workshop will not be recorded. Detailed handouts will be emailed after the workshop in case you missed something!

If you withdraw one week prior to the workshop, you will be offered a full refund.  No refunds will be offered in the week leading up to the course, but you are welcome to switch your enrollment to a future session as long as space allows.

Of Course! There is an additional $20.00 registration fee per sibling. 

Because the experience of puberty is typically attached to specific hormones and anatomical body parts, this class was designed for female-bodied teens.  This class identifies normal and abnormal teen periods but will not cover the specific health needs of every unique puberty experience. I cover the physiological experience of menstruation, and gender and sexual orientation are not covered.

It’s difficult to have an informed discussion about menstruation without speaking briefly about the purpose of egg release, potential fertilization, etc.  It will be kept extremely brief and to the point.  For example: “In order for a pregnancy to occur, there needs to be 3 things present: an egg, fertile cervical fluid, and sperm (the male reproductive cell).

We also identify all the parts and functions of the vulva including the clitoris: “This area’s only job is sensation and pleasure.  Many people touch themselves for pleasure and this is called masturbation.  Some people do not and that is OK too.  But the one thing that is the same for everyone is that it is against the law for anyone to touch you without your permission.  Moving on……”

Moms will be invited to a separate moms-only portion of the workshop where things like sexual consent, hook-up culture, porn, and masturbation will be discussed without the younger females present.
